Community groups demand justice for Jose Antonio and charges dropped for No More Deaths humanitarian aid worker

A coalition of community organizations will hold a joint press conference calling for a retrial of Border Patrol Officer Lonnie Swartz and dismissal of the felony charges against aid worker Scott Warren on Friday May 11th at 9 am (PST) in front of the DeConcini U.S. Courthouse, Tucson, AZ. That day, there will be a hearing for the potential retrial of Lonnie Swartz on the charges of voluntary and involuntary manslaughter in the killing of 16-year-old Jose Antonio Elena Rodriguez, who was shot from the US side of the Border Wall in Nogales, AZ, in October of 2012. There will also be a hearing to file a motion to dismiss the case against humanitarian aid worker Scott Warren, who is facing felony charges for allegedly providing food, water, and clothing to people crossing the border.
